Policy overview
These Terms of Use describe the rules for using the identity verification service operated by Verified by Toni, Inc. Toni verifies information and issues limited verification claims; it does not make employment, licensing, lending, housing, legal, medical, or marketplace decisions for partners.
1. The Toni Service
Toni provides account access, identity checks through Didit, face match and liveness checks, optional AML screening, consent screens, partner connections, and signed verification results. Results describe specific checks and timestamps. Toni does not currently offer automated professional-license, SSN-database, or EIN verification.
2. Eligibility and Account Security
- You must provide accurate information and use your own legal identity when creating or using a Toni account.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in codes, authenticator, passkeys, devices, email account, phone number, and recovery methods.
- You may not create accounts for another person, sell access to a verified account, or allow another person to use your Toni verification.
3. Verification Is Not a Guarantee
A verified status reflects approval of the required checks based on available evidence at a point in time. Completing or returning from a capture session alone is not approval. Verification does not guarantee future conduct, honesty, professional performance, employment fitness, creditworthiness, or absence of fraud risk. Partners remain responsible for their own onboarding, compliance, eligibility, and risk decisions.
4. Business Onboarding
- Businesses provide company details and representative information. Providing an EIN does not itself validate that EIN or establish company ownership.
- Representative identity verification, company review, and website-control verification are separate steps. Account active indicates enabled account access; Company review pending means business verification is not yet complete.
- New live integrations require the representative and website checks described in the dashboard. Website proof does not attest native app ownership. Keep company information and authorized representatives up to date.
5. Partner Connections and Consent
When a partner website asks you to verify with Toni, Toni may show the partner name, requested scopes, and claims before you approve sharing. Platforms may request additional checks at their expense. Toni shares approved, scoped results rather than raw ID photos or biometric images. Approved email and profile scopes may disclose account information. You may revoke partner connections from your dashboard; revocation prevents future Toni sharing but does not erase information a partner already received or automatically end that partner's own sessions.
6. Prohibited Use
- Do not submit forged, altered, stolen, synthetic, or misleading identity documents or credential information.
- Do not bypass, tamper with, automate, scrape, attack, reverse engineer, or overload Toni systems or provider systems.
- Do not use Toni to harass, impersonate, discriminate unlawfully, make unauthorized background checks, or violate applicable law.
7. Third-Party Providers
Toni may use identity verification, face/liveness, fraud screening, communications, cloud hosting, database, storage, payments, and support providers. Didit processes identity verification evidence and Stripe processes payments. Those providers may process information only as needed to support the service and subject to applicable agreements.
8. Suspension, Reverification, and Revocation
Toni may require reverification, limit sharing, suspend an account, revoke a verification status, or hold verification for review if information appears inaccurate, expired, risky, disputed, legally restricted, or inconsistent with provider results.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Toni is provided on an as-available basis during product development and operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Toni disclaims implied warranties and limits liability for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from service use, verification outcomes, partner decisions, provider errors, or unavailable data sources.
10. Verification Payments
Standard personal verification is free. Optional personal upgrades and partner or developer verifications are priced a la carte, starting at $0.50 per paid verification session. Payments are one-time, not recurring subscriptions. The cart or selected workflow shows the applicable checks and total before purchase. The minimum applies when at least one check is executed, including declined checks; payment does not guarantee approval. Required companion checks are included in the quoted total. Unused account credit remains available, and eligible reuse does not incur a new verification charge. Previously started sessions retain the pricing quoted when they began.
